Voting Question: writing a book, need references from movies in order to pick my setting...?

well this is my 3rd attemot at the same question. I'm writing a book and i need to find a place where the setting in my head matches a town/city somewhere on the west coast (but not washington). *I thought about crescent city california, grass valley california, lincoln oregon, but none of them REALLY fit. I thought about vancouver because i saw "the invisible" and fell in love with the scenery. Now, if I could match the scenery in Vancouver with a place in the US i'm all set! any help? please, reference a movie or SOMETHING so i can see what you're talking about!!! thanks so much!...
